Description

Elegance is a table lamp in black. A plain black cylinder standing on a small round black foot, open at the top where the lamp screws in. The tube is straight-sided with no taper and the foot is a thin flat disc barely wider than it, so the whole fitting reads as a short post. The finish is a fine-grained matt black with a slightly textured surface rather than a smooth paint. There is no shade and no shade ring, so whatever lamp is fitted is the whole of what is seen. It is low and unornamented and meant to stand on a shelf with a decorative lamp in it. It measures 11cm across.

It is a lamp for a side table, a desk or a bedside, close enough to reach the switch from where you sit, and it lights the surface it stands on rather than the whole room. A pair either side of a bed or a sofa reads as deliberate where one alone reads as an afterthought, and two smaller lamps light a room more evenly than one large one.

The holder is E27. It is rated IP20, for dry indoor rooms.
