Elef is a small standing reindeer made from stoneware, with a round hole in its back that holds a single candle. It is modelled with branching antlers, alert ears, a short tail and four sturdy legs, and carved vertical grooves run down its body and legs, set against a white surface with a fine speckle all over. It measures 17.5cm long, 8.5cm wide and 19cm tall, so it reads clearly on a windowsill or mantelpiece without taking over, and at 0.466KG it has a reassuring, solid weight when you pick it up.
