Description

The Knightsbridge dual USB module provides one USB-A port (max 18W) and one USB-C port (max 22W) as a single-gang grid insert for the Curved Edge modular switch system. The USB-C port supports USB Power Delivery (USB-PD) and Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0/3.0 protocols, allowing compatible devices to fast-charge at voltages between 5V and 20V. The USB-A port operates at 5-12V and supports Quick Charge protocols for older devices.

Designed for integration into kitchen worktops, home offices, hotel rooms and anywhere modular grid wiring offers configuration flexibility, the module occupies one grid space within a Curved Edge grid frame (sold separately). The white thermoset resin faceplate coordinates with Knightsbridge's Curved Edge range of switches and sockets. The module requires a minimum 35mm back box depth for safe installation and is front-mounting, clipping into the grid frame without rear fixings.

When both USB ports are in use simultaneously, the combined output is limited to 5V 3.5A shared between the two ports, prioritising device safety over maximum individual output. The module's anti-microbial finish is third-party tested to ISO 22196:2011, making it suitable for high-touch environments including care facilities and hospitality. The IP20 rating limits use to dry indoor environments only.

What's the maximum charging output?

The USB-C port delivers up to 22W (20V at 1.1A) when used alone. The USB-A port delivers up to 18W (12V at 1.5A) when used alone. When both ports are in use simultaneously, total output is limited to 5V 3.5A shared between the two devices.

Does it work with all grid systems?

No. This module is designed exclusively for the Knightsbridge Curved Edge grid system and will not fit standard MK-style grid frames or other modular wiring systems. The grid frame and back box are sold separately.

What fast-charge protocols are supported?

The USB-C port supports USB Power Delivery (USB-PD), Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0 and 3.0, and other common fast-charge standards. The USB-A port supports Quick Charge 2.0 and 3.0. Use certified USB cables to ensure compatibility and safety.

Can it be used in bathrooms?

The IP20 rating limits this module to dry indoor locations only. It is not suitable for use in bathrooms, wet rooms or any area where direct water contact is possible.
