Description

A round tray 40.5cm across and 1cm deep, made in aluminium and finished in antique brass. The surface is hammered and embossed by hand rather than left flat, so a dense pattern runs out from the centre of the face in rings and the beaten rim catches the light differently from the field inside it.

At 40.5cm this is a tray for grouping things on rather than for carrying a meal: candles, glassware or a few objects on a coffee table, a console or a dining table. It is only 1cm deep overall, so the lip is shallow and things stand on it rather than sit down inside it. It weighs 0.62kg.

The tray is aluminium under an antique brass finish. Metalworkers shape each one by hand and then emboss the surface, so the pattern falls a little differently on every tray. The Dhanya tray is also made at 54.5cm across.
