Description

The Danya is a 69cm eight-light chandelier built on a polished chrome frame with eight curved arms radiating from a central column. Each arm terminates in a candle-cup fitting that takes an E14 bulb (sold separately), with a lead crystal drip pan beneath each fitting and a faceted crystal finial suspended from the centre of the frame.

Designed for dining rooms with 2.6m+ ceiling heights, entrance halls, and formal sitting rooms, the chandelier provides ambient overhead light distributed across eight points. The 520-1550mm adjustable drop allows the fitting to be positioned 700-900mm above a dining table or 2m+ above floor level in a hallway, depending on ceiling height. The polished chrome frame reflects ambient daylight and candlelight from the bulbs, amplifying brightness without requiring high-wattage bulbs.

The lead crystal components—drip pans on each arm and the central faceted drop—catch and refract light when the chandelier is lit, creating subtle movement across walls and ceilings. The eight-arm configuration gives a 690mm diameter spread, suited to tables seating 6-8 people or entrance halls 3-4m wide. At 4.5kg the chandelier requires secure ceiling fixing into a joist or reinforced ceiling rose rated for the combined weight of the frame, chain and bulbs.

The polished chrome finish pairs with both warm and cool interior palettes—brass and gold tones in traditional settings, greys and whites in contemporary rooms. The chandelier takes eight E14 small Edison screw bulbs up to 60W each. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with 4-6W warm-white LED candle bulbs at 2700K for ambient dining room light, or flame-tip filament bulbs for a traditional candle aesthetic.

Is it dimmable?

Yes, if dimmable bulbs are fitted. The chandelier itself has no electronic components—dimming is controlled by the bulb type and the wall dimmer switch. Check bulb packaging for dimmer compatibility before purchasing.

What ceiling height is needed?

The 520mm minimum drop suits ceiling heights from 2.6m upwards when the chandelier is positioned above a dining table. For entrance halls or double-height spaces, the drop can be extended to 1550mm. The 69cm diameter requires at least 1m of clearance from walls on all sides.

How is the drop adjusted during installation?

The chain and cable are adjusted by removing links from the chain before final installation. The excess chain and cable are stored inside the ceiling canopy once the desired drop height is set.
