Description

This is a quilt in woven cotton, worked in a multicoloured geometric pattern of triangles that meet in points and pinwheels across the whole face. It measures 150cm long and 125cm wide, which makes it a generous throw rather than a full bedspread: big enough to wrap round your shoulders on the sofa or to lie folded across the foot of a bed. Straight lines of quilting stitches run the length of it, holding the layers together and giving the surface a soft, gently crinkled texture. The reverse is plain and quilted in matching lines, so either side can face outward.

At 0.73KG it is light enough to carry from room to room: keep it on an armchair in the living room for reading evenings, then take it upstairs when the bedroom needs an extra layer. The mix of colours in the pattern sits well against plain upholstery and wooden furniture, and it brightens a bare guest bed or a window seat without asking the rest of the room to match.
