Description

Copenhagen is a table lamp in black. A jointed black arm in two straight sections, folding at a knuckle, carried on a short upright post that rises from a flat round black disc base. At the far end a small white half-dome head hangs off a short drop and is left open underneath, so it can be swung out over a table and folded back. A small control sits at the foot of the post. The arm and the base are matt black throughout and the white head is the only pale element. Folded in, the whole lamp sits compactly over its base.

It is a lamp for a side table, a desk or a bedside, close enough to reach the switch from where you sit, and it lights the surface it stands on rather than the whole room. A pair either side of a bed or a sofa reads as deliberate where one alone reads as an afterthought, and two smaller lamps light a room more evenly than one large one. There is a switch on the stem, so it is reached at the fitting rather than by following the flex down.

The holder is G9 and takes up to 28W. It plugs into an ordinary socket, so it needs no electrician. It is class II, double insulated, so it needs no earth, and it is rated IP20 for dry indoor rooms.

A G9 lamp up to 28W. Bulbs are supplied separately so you can choose the brightness and colour you want.

Can it be dimmed?

Yes, on a compatible dimmer, provided the lamp you fit is a dimmable one. The fitting has no dimmer of its own.

Does it need an electrician?

No. It comes on a flex with a moulded plug and goes into an ordinary socket.

Where is the switch?

There is switch on the stem.

Does it need an earth?

No. It is class II, double insulated, so it is wired live and neutral only.

Can it go in a bathroom?

No. It is IP20, which covers dry interior rooms only. A bathroom needs IP44 or better.
