Description

The Coniston is a 600mm diameter acorn-shaped crystal chandelier with 16 E14 bulb fittings arranged across a tiered French gold frame. The acorn profile tapers from a 600mm-wide crown to a narrow base, with multiple layers of faceted crystal strands cascading from the frame like overlapping scales. Each crystal piece is individually attached to the gold metalwork, creating a dense optical surface that refracts light from all 16 bulb positions.

Designed for large dining rooms, entrance halls and double-height living spaces with ceiling heights of 3m or above, the Coniston provides ambient and decorative function through mass rather than directional light. The adjustable drop ranges from 1140mm to 2600mm on installation, allowing the chandelier to be set at the correct height above a dining table (typically 700-900mm clearance) or as a focal point in an atrium. The 38.4kg weight requires a ceiling joist or structural support — standard plasterboard ceiling roses will not hold this chandelier safely.

The French gold finish is a warmer, slightly aged tone compared to polished brass or bright gold, with subtle brown undertones that reduce reflectivity and pair well with traditional oak, walnut and mahogany interiors. The clear crystal strands multiply and scatter the light from the 16 E14 bulbs (sold separately), creating a diffused glow that fills the volume around the chandelier rather than directing light downward. Each fitting accepts bulbs up to 20W, giving flexibility to choose colour temperature and output.

The chandelier ships in multiple pieces and requires assembly on-site before being lifted into position. Installation by a qualified electrician is required due to the weight and the complexity of securing the chain and ceiling rose to structural support.
