Description

This wooden framed plaque marks a christening day with a raised cross and a gentle blessing. The cross stands proud of a soft beige panel and carries the words “on your christening day”, while beneath it the panel reads “may you always be blessed with love & happiness”. Fine printed stars and a small crescent moon are scattered across the panel for a quiet night-sky touch. A plain white wooden frame surrounds the whole piece and keeps the look clean and calm. It is 21.9cm tall, 17cm wide and 2.6cm deep, a neat size for a shelf or a small stretch of wall.

We see it as a thoughtful christening gift for a little one aged up to three, given by family or friends to mark the day. In a nursery it sits comfortably alongside soft furnishings and pale walls, and its beige and white tones suit most schemes, whether the room leans towards blush pinks, soft greys or natural wood. It hangs on the wall from the hook on the back, or rests on a shelf propped against the wall, so it can move as the room changes. Long after the christening it stays a gentle reminder of the day, kept close as the child grows.

The frame is wooden, with a deep box profile that lets the cross sit forward of the panel, and a brown backing board closes the back. A sawtooth hanger is fixed near the top of the backing board, so a single picture hook or nail is all it needs to hang. Care is simple: dust the frame and the front with a soft dry cloth, and keep it away from damp. To give it, wrap it in tissue with a handwritten card, and suggest a spot in the nursery where the blessing can be read every day.

Frequently Asked

How big is the christening plaque?

It is 21.9cm tall, 17cm wide and 2.6cm deep. That is a comfortable size for a nursery shelf or a small space on the wall.

What words are on the plaque?

The cross reads “on your christening day”, and beneath it the panel reads “may you always be blessed with love & happiness”, with small printed stars and a crescent moon.

Can the plaque hang on the wall?

Yes. There is a sawtooth hanger on the back, so it hangs from a single picture hook or nail. It can also rest on a shelf, propped against the wall.

What colour is the plaque?

The panel is a soft beige and the frame is white, with a pale raised cross. These neutral tones sit quietly with most nursery colour schemes.

Who is this plaque a good gift for?

We suggest it as a christening gift for a little one up to three years old. It marks the day and can stay in their room as they grow.

How do I look after the plaque?

Dust the frame and the front gently with a soft dry cloth. Keep it somewhere dry, away from damp, so the wood stays in good condition.
