Description

This multicoloured children's throw is covered in rows of little sausage dogs, each with a striped body, repeated across the whole cloth. It measures 160cm long and 130cm wide, a generous size for a child: big enough to lie across the foot of a single bed, wrap around small shoulders on the sofa or spread on the floor for a story. The fabric is 61% cotton, 31% polyester and 8% viscose, and the throw weighs 1KG, so it has some substance without being too heavy for small hands.

It belongs in a child's bedroom, nursery or playroom: folded at the end of the bed, draped over a reading chair or laid across a den in the corner of the room. Dog-loving children tend to claim a throw like this as their own, and it makes a thoughtful present for one. Because the pattern carries several colours at once, it sits happily against plain bedding in almost any shade, and it is just as at home on the family sofa for a film night or a slow Sunday morning.

The finish is a print, and a thick tassel sits at each corner. Cotton is soft and breathable, while polyester helps a fabric hold its shape wash after wash. Care is straightforward: it goes in the washing machine at 40 degrees, can be tumble dried on a low setting and takes a medium iron, which matters with a throw that will be dragged from room to room. For styling, fold it in thirds across the foot of a plain bed so the rows of dogs run straight, and let the tassels hang over the edge.
