Description
Our cedar artificial Christmas tree is a slender, open little tree rather than a dense cone. Its green needles grow in tufts along fine, twiggy branches that reach out at uneven lengths from a single central stem, so it has the loose, slightly wild outline of a young tree rather than a clipped one. It measures 50cm across at its widest and weighs 1.3KG, which makes it easy to lift onto a table or a bench and to move from room to room. It is made from polyethylene and polyfoam, and it stands in a wrapped base gathered and tied at the top, so there is no stand to hide.
This is a tree for the places a full-size one will not fit: a sideboard, a hallway console, the end of a bench or a deep window ledge. Because the base is part of the tree, it sits neatly on a surface without a skirt or a pot. It suits a flat where floor space is short, a desk or a reception, or a second tree in a bedroom or a dining room alongside a larger one. Being artificial, it needs no watering, and it can come out each December and go back into storage in January.
The maker asks that it is handled with care to avoid breaking the needle clusters, and before it goes on display the branches need to be trimmed and folded into place. Give it a few minutes when you first unpack it: bend each branch out from the stem, then ease the tufts apart so the gaps between them show and the open cedar outline comes through. Polyethylene is a light, flexible plastic. The styling props shown are not included. For styling, keep it simple and light: a few small ornaments, a ribbon tied around the base, and wrapped gifts gathered at its foot.

Frequently Asked
What is this artificial tree made of?
It is made from polyethylene and polyfoam, and the whole tree weighs 1.3KG, so it is light enough to lift onto a table, a bench or a sideboard.
How wide is the tree?
It is 50cm across at its widest branches, so it needs a surface with room for that spread, such as a sideboard, a bench or a broad window ledge.
Does the tree need setting up before I display it?
Yes. The maker says the branches must be trimmed and folded into place before use, so bend each one out from the stem and ease the tufts apart.
Does it need a separate stand or pot?
No. It stands in its own wrapped base, gathered and tied at the top, so it sits on a table or a bench without a separate stand or pot.
Can I hang decorations on it?
Yes, lightly. The maker asks that it is handled with care to avoid breaking the needle clusters, so small, light ornaments and ribbon suit its fine branches better than heavy baubles.
