Description

The Knightsbridge CAT6A RJ45 outlet module is a single-port unshielded network socket designed to fit standard 25 x 50mm euro-module faceplates. The module carries an ANSI/TIA/EIA 568B.2-10 compliant RJ45 socket with a single protective shutter that closes when no cable is inserted, and IDC terminals on the rear that accept 16-20 AWG solid or stranded cable.

Designed for structured cabling in residential and commercial installations, the module delivers up to 10Gbps data throughput at 500MHz over a maximum 100m cable run when paired with certified CAT6A cabling. The module is backward compatible with CAT6 and CAT5e cables, though data rates and bandwidth will be limited by the lower-spec cable. The module supports Power over Ethernet (PoE), allowing a single cable to carry both data and power to devices such as IP cameras, wireless access points and VoIP phones.

The white ABS housing measures 25mm wide x 50mm tall x 18.6mm deep, with a 15mm recessed depth behind the faceplate when installed. The module requires a minimum 25mm back box depth and clips into euro-module compatible faceplates from Knightsbridge's Screwless and Grid ranges. The IP20 rating suits dry indoor environments; the module is not suitable for bathrooms, outdoor use or damp locations.

Can this module carry power to devices?

Yes. The module supports Power over Ethernet (PoE), allowing a single cable to deliver both data and power to compatible devices such as IP cameras, wireless access points, VoIP phones and smart doorbells. The power capability depends on the PoE injector or switch used at the other end of the cable.

What cable gauge does the IDC terminal accept?
