The Knightsbridge CAT6a RJ45 network outlet provides a single shuttered unshielded RJ45 socket behind a smoked bronze screwless faceplate. What back box depth is required?

A 35mm minimum back box depth is needed for safe installation. The screwless cover plate adds 4.3mm projection from the wall once fitted, and the total recessed depth behind the wall surface is 28.6mm.

What's the difference between CAT6 and CAT6a?

CAT6a supports 10Gbps transfer rates over longer cable runs (up to 100m) and operates at 500MHz bandwidth compared to CAT6's 250MHz. This outlet is rated for CAT6a but will also work with CAT6 or CAT5e cable, though the transfer rate drops to the rating of whichever cable category is used.

Does it support Power over Ethernet?
