The Knightsbridge CAT6a RJ45 network outlet provides a single shuttered unshielded RJ45 socket behind a smoked bronze screwless faceplate. The outlet supports transfer rates up to 10Gbps and operates across a 500MHz bandwidth, making it suitable for home networks running gigabit fibre broadband, wired security cameras, NAS drives, and other high-bandwidth devices that benefit from stable wired connection over Wi-Fi.

Designed for residential and light commercial installation, the outlet fits a standard 35mm minimum back box depth and uses IDC (insulation displacement contact) termination for UTP CAT6a cables. The shuttered socket prevents dust ingress when the port is not in use and provides a safety barrier when exposed to typical household conditions. The outlet also supports enhanced PoE (Power over Ethernet) capability, allowing it to deliver power and data over a single cable run to compatible devices like IP cameras, VoIP phones and wireless access points.

The screwless cover plate is constructed from 201 stainless steel with a smoked bronze finish that gives a warm metallic tone somewhere between brushed brass and gunmetal grey. The 4.3mm flat plate includes an integrated gasket that sits flush against the wall once fitted, concealing the back box edge and giving a clean finish without visible screws or fixings. The finish pairs well with warm-toned contemporary and industrial interiors, and coordinates with other Knightsbridge smoked bronze switches and sockets in the same range.

The outlet is backwards compatible with CAT6 and CAT5e cabling, so it can be used in installations where existing lower-category cable is already in place, though the full 10Gbps transfer rate requires certified UTP CAT6a cable throughout the run. The operating temperature range of -10°C to 60°C covers typical UK residential conditions, though installation in unheated outbuildings or attics may push towards the lower limit during winter.
