Description
The Knightsbridge CAT6a RJ45 network outlet provides a single shuttered unshielded RJ45 socket behind a matt black screwless steel faceplate. The outlet supports 10Gbps data transfer speeds over 100m cable runs at 500MHz bandwidth, meeting CAT6a specification for high-speed wired network connections in residential and commercial installations.
Designed for home offices, media rooms, commercial workspaces and hospitality installations where wired network reliability is needed, the outlet fits a standard 35mm minimum back box and terminates UTP CAT6a cabling using IDC terminals rated for 16-20 AWG wire gauges. The screwless cover plate clips onto a separate metal sub-frame, hiding all fixings once installed and giving a 4.3mm projection from the wall.
The matt black finish on the SPCC steel faceplate provides a low-reflectance surface that pairs with contemporary, industrial and minimalist interiors. The integrated gasket between the plate and the wall ensures a clean edge without gaps. The RJ45 socket includes protective shutters that close when no cable is inserted, preventing dust ingress and accidental contact with the IDC terminals behind. The outlet is backwards compatible with CAT6, CAT5e and CAT5 cables, though full 10Gbps performance requires certified CAT6a cabling throughout the run.

Frequently Asked
What back box depth is required?
A 35mm minimum back box depth is needed to accommodate the outlet module and the IDC termination behind it. The screwless cover plate adds 4.3mm of projection from the wall once fitted.
What cabling does it need for full 10Gbps performance?
Full 10Gbps transfer speed requires certified UTP CAT6a cabling throughout the cable run. The outlet is backwards compatible with CAT6, CAT5e and CAT5, but data speed will be limited by the lowest-rated cable segment in the installation.
What wire gauge does it terminate?
The IDC terminals accept 16-20 AWG solid or stranded copper conductors. This covers standard network cabling used in UK and European installations.
Is the screwless plate removable for redecoration?
Yes. The cover plate clips onto a metal sub-frame fixed to the back box. The cover can be removed for painting around the outlet and re-clipped without disturbing the cable termination.
