Description

The Knightsbridge CAT6a RJ45 network outlet provides a single shuttered unshielded twisted pair socket behind a black nickel screwless faceplate. The outlet is tested to ANSI/TIA/EIA 568B.2-10 standards and supports 10 Gigabit Ethernet transmission over certified UTP CAT6A cabling, making it suitable for high-bandwidth data networks and Power over Ethernet devices including IP cameras, VoIP phones and wireless access points.

Designed for installation in residential, commercial and hospitality settings where wired network connections are needed, the outlet fits a standard 35mm minimum back box depth. The screwless cover plate clips onto a separate metal sub-frame fixed to the back box, leaving no visible fixings on the wall once installed. The shuttered socket protects the RJ45 aperture from dust ingress when no cable is plugged in.

The black nickel finish is a dark gunmetal tone that sits between polished chrome and matt black, pairing well with contemporary interiors using dark metal accents or monochrome colour schemes. The 201 stainless steel construction provides corrosion resistance and the IP20 rating makes it suitable for dry interior locations. The IDC terminal block on the back of the module accepts standard UTP CAT6A cable with solid core conductors, crimped or punched down using a standard 110-style termination tool.

What cable standard is required?

The outlet requires certified UTP CAT6A cable with solid core conductors. CAT6 or lower-spec cable will physically fit but will not support the 10 Gigabit Ethernet transmission speed that CAT6A is rated for. Always match the outlet specification to the installed cabling.

Does it support Power over Ethernet devices?

Yes. The outlet supports PoE and PoE+ devices such as IP security cameras, VoIP phones and wireless access points, provided the network switch or injector at the other end of the cable supplies the required power. The outlet itself is passive and does not inject power.

What back box depth is needed?

A 35mm minimum back box depth is required. The screwless cover plate adds 4.3mm of projection from the wall once fitted, with 28.6mm of the module recessed into the box.

Is the screwless plate removable for redecorating?

Yes. The black nickel cover plate clips onto a separate metal sub-frame fixed to the back box. The cover can be removed for painting around the outlet and re-clipped without disturbing the wiring or module termination.
