Description

The Knightsbridge CAT6a RJ45 network outlet supports data transfer speeds up to 10Gbps at 500MHz through a single shuttered unshielded twisted pair socket, housed behind an antique brass screwless faceplate. The outlet uses IDC termination for UTP CAT6A cabling and is backwards compatible with CAT6 and CAT5e installations where the full 10Gbps bandwidth is not required.

Designed for residential and office Ethernet installations where wired network reliability is prioritised over wireless, the outlet suits home offices, AV equipment racks, and professional data installations requiring gigabit or 10-gigabit connectivity. The 4.3mm projection from the wall keeps the faceplate low-profile, and the screwless cover clips onto a separate metal sub-frame without visible fixings once installed. The built-in gasket ensures a flush seal against the wall surface.

The antique brass finish provides a warm metallic patina that pairs with classical, traditional and warm-toned contemporary interiors. The 201 stainless steel construction beneath the finish gives corrosion resistance and structural rigidity. The outlet operates across a temperature range of -10°C to 60°C and carries an IP20 rating for dry indoor use. A minimum 35mm back box depth is needed for safe installation. The outlet has a recessed depth of 28.6mm and the screwless cover plate adds 4.3mm of projection from the wall once fitted.

What data speeds does CAT6a support?

CAT6a supports data transfer up to 10Gbps at 500MHz bandwidth when used with certified UTP CAT6A cabling. The outlet is backwards compatible with CAT6 (1Gbps) and CAT5e (1Gbps) installations.

Can I use this with existing CAT5e or CAT6 cable?

Yes. The outlet accepts CAT5e and CAT6 terminations, but you will only achieve the speeds those cable categories support (typically 1Gbps). To achieve 10Gbps, the entire cable run must be certified CAT6A.
