Description

Our Camellia plate is a small porcelain plate, 16cm across and 3cm tall, with a soft cream surface flecked with tiny speckles. A border of sweeping leaf shapes curls around the edge in groups, each joined by small dots, while a darker line traces the rim and the centre stays plain. At 16cm it is a side plate size, right for toast, a slice of cake or a few biscuits rather than a main meal. The rim lifts gently from the base and the plate holds 175ml, so a little dressing or the juice from cut fruit stays where it belongs.

Use it at breakfast for a croissant or buttered toast, at teatime under a scone, or as the side plate beside a bowl of soup at lunch. It suits sharing small things too: olives, a wedge of cheese, sliced fruit or a handful of almonds set out when friends visit. The cream porcelain sits easily on a wooden table or a linen cloth, and the leaf border brings pattern to an everyday setting without fuss.
