Description

This is a low outdoor lounge chair that comes with its own footstool, both woven in grey cord over a slim tubular frame. The chair has a rounded back that curves down into the seat, slim looped armrests, and an open, chequered weave across the back with a closer weave on the seat. It is made of 75% iron and 25% polypropylene, and polypropylene is a plastic that absorbs very little water. The chair is 65cm wide, 64cm long and 73cm tall. The footstool is 51cm long, 40cm wide and 32cm tall, so it sits low in front of the chair, at the right level for resting your feet.

We picture it on a terrace, a balcony or a quiet patch of lawn, anywhere you want to stretch out with a book for an hour. At 65cm wide the chair suits a compact balcony as well as a wide terrace, and the footstool can be pulled in close or moved aside when you want the space back. Because the weave is open, the pair looks light rather than bulky, and grass, planting or paving shows through the back. It suits anyone who likes a proper lounging position outdoors: low, relaxed and with somewhere to put their feet up.

Both pieces stand on sled bases, where the tube runs down from the seat and along the ground in one continuous line, with small feet at the ends of each runner. The armrests are single loops of the same tube. The cord is braided, and it is wrapped tightly around the rim of the back and seat to give a neat, rounded edge. To style it, angle the chair towards the view, keep the footstool in front, and add a seat pad of your own if you like a softer sit; the weave still shows around it.
