Description
Caia is a small stoneware vase shaped like a weathered pebble, with two round holes running right through its body, one larger than the other. Its white surface is matt and finely pitted, covered in tiny pores and flecks, so it reads more like a stone picked up on a shoreline than a polished ornament. It measures 16cm long, 7cm wide and 9.5cm tall and weighs 0.29KG, which makes it a compact piece for a shelf rather than a vase for a big bunch of flowers. A narrow opening along the top takes a single stem or two.
Because the wall or window behind can be seen through the holes, Caia looks best where it is seen from the front: a bookshelf, a mantelpiece, a bedside table or the corner of a desk. Set a dried stem, a seed head or a few slim grasses in the top and the piece does the rest; the open form means it still looks finished when it stands empty. We think it suits a living room, a bedroom or a hallway console equally well, and anyone who likes natural, pared-back interiors. At this size it also makes an easy gift for a new home or for a friend who collects ceramics.
Caia is made entirely of stoneware, a dense, hard-fired clay that wears well. The pitted texture runs over the whole body, into the hollows around the holes as well as across the sides, so the vase looks considered from any angle on an open shelf. At 0.29KG it is light enough to move about whenever a shelf is rearranged. For a quiet grouping, stand it on a short stack of books beside a taller vase or a bowl in a similar tone; the styling props shown are not included.

Frequently Asked
What material is the Caia vase?
It is made of 100% stoneware, a dense, hard-fired clay, with a matt, finely pitted white surface across the whole body.
How big is the Caia vase?
It is 16cm long, 7cm wide and 9.5cm tall and weighs 0.29KG, a compact size for a shelf, windowsill or bedside table.
Do the two holes go all the way through?
Yes. Both round holes pass right through the body, one larger than the other, so the wall or window behind can be seen through them.
What sort of stems suit it?
