The Burgh is a 50cm diameter drum pendant light built around an opaque white glass cylinder enclosed by vertical antique brass metal rods. The glass diffuser sits inside the brass cage, creating a layered structure where light passes through the glass and between the metal bars, casting both ambient glow and subtle linear shadow patterns. The pendant requires one E27 bulb (sold separately) and suspends on a 1-metre clear cable from an antique brass ceiling rose.

Designed for dining tables, kitchen islands and living room ceiling positions, the Burgh provides diffused ambient light rather than focused task illumination. The 50cm diameter suits rooms of 12-20m², and the 30cm shade height keeps the overall drop compact enough for standard 2.4m ceiling heights when the cable is shortened during installation. The antique brass finish carries a warm, aged patina that pairs with both traditional interiors and warm-toned contemporary schemes.

The opaque glass drum softens the output from any standard E27 LED, halogen or filament bulb, preventing glare while maintaining enough brightness for central room lighting. The vertical brass rods give the shade a structured appearance when unlit and add visual interest when the light is on, as the shadow lines change depending on viewing angle. What bulb does the Burgh take?

The pendant takes one E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. For dining or living room use, most buyers choose a warm-white LED between 8-12W and 2700K-3000K to maintain a soft ambient effect through the opaque glass.

Can the cable length be adjusted?

Yes. The 1-metre clear cable can be shortened during installation to suit your ceiling height and the desired drop over a table or seating area. For a dining table the pendant typically sits 700-800mm above the surface.

Is the Burgh suitable for low ceilings?

The 30cm shade height keeps the overall drop relatively compact. With the cable shortened to 400-500mm, the Burgh works in rooms with 2.4m ceilings, though it may feel too close to the table surface if the ceiling is lower than 2.3m.

Does the antique brass tarnish over time?

The antique brass finish is applied as a coating and should not tarnish significantly under normal indoor conditions. Avoid placing the pendant in high-humidity areas such as bathrooms or directly above hobs where grease and moisture can accelerate oxidation.
