Description

This is a table lamp built around one simple idea: a long curved arm rises from a round base and arcs over the top, and the shade hangs from its tip on the flex. The shade is a soft, rounded yellow ring capped with a small dome, so it looks more like a bubble or a pebble than a cone. It is made of 90% iron and 10% PVC. Overall it measures 27cm long, 27cm wide and 34.5cm tall, and the shade itself is 22cm across and 13cm tall.

At 34.5cm tall it is a compact lamp for a bedside table, a desk, a console or a sideboard, and it is small enough to sit on a low stack of books beside a sofa or daybed. The 150cm cable gives you reach to a socket, and the switch sits on the cord, so you can turn it on and off without reaching round the shade. It is rated IP20, which means it is for dry rooms such as a living room, bedroom, hallway or study. The yellow shade brings a warm note of colour to a pale or neutral room.

It takes an E14 bulb, the smaller screw fitting, at up to 40W, or up to 5W for an LED and 9W for a CFL. The bulb is not included, so pick one up alongside it.
