Bremen Silver XL is a full length mirror 75cm wide and 170cm tall in a moulded frame with a stepped section, finished in a broken silver that lets a darker ground show through on the high points. The steps run down from the outer edge to the glass in stages rather than as a single slope.

The stepped profile is what gives the frame presence from across a room rather than only close up, and the rubbed silver keeps it cooler than a gilt frame would be in the same shape. At 170cm it gives a full length reflection and it suits an older room, or a plain one that needs a single decorated object in it. It hangs either way up, so a wide wall can take it lying down over a chest of drawers. It is rated bathroom proof, though the frame finish prefers a dry wall to a wet one.

The frame is moulded composite with a silver finish, which is why a mirror this size stays at 12kg and why the finish is even all the way round with no grain to match. Nothing needs assembling and two screws, washers and plugs are supplied. Clean the glass with cleaner sprayed onto a cloth and dust the moulding dry, keeping damp off it: a rubbed finish is the part of a frame like this that wears first, and the high points are where it goes.
