Description

The Boni is a wall spotlight cut back to the essentials: a round brass plate with one visible screw, a short stem, and a plain brass barrel on a pivot, open at the end with the lamp set inside it. There is no shade and no shaping, just the cylinder and the joint it turns on. The brass is aged and mottled, darker in patches across the surface. It is 15cm tall, 7cm wide and stands 12cm out from the wall.

A barrel this plain does one thing: it throws a contained beam wherever it is pointed. Mounted above a framed picture, the beam falls down across the frame. That is what it is for, along with shelving and anything else that wants a pool of light rather than a lit room. It takes one GU10 bulb up to 11W, it works on a dimmer, and it is rated IP20 for dry indoor rooms.

The fitting is solid brass, cast and then finished so the aged tone runs unevenly across it, which is why no two look quite alike.
