Description

These stoneware candle holders come as a set of two, and each one is a little hand-painted figure standing in front of its own upright candle socket. One wears a polka dot dress and has a pair of wings at its back; the other wears a striped jumper and boots, with a large star rising behind its head. Both have closed eyes, painted cheeks and a small heart for a mouth, and both stand on a round, flat base. They measure 10cm long, 6.5cm wide and 15cm tall, compact enough for a narrow shelf, and the 100% stoneware body gives them a solid, steady feel.

They are made for Christmas, for the weeks when candles come out every evening and the house fills up with greenery. Stand the pair on a sideboard, a mantelpiece or a windowsill shelf among baubles and pine sprigs, or put one at each end of a festive table. Each socket is made for a slim taper candle, the tall, narrow kind.
