Description
The Bingham is an upholstered swivel chair with a 360° rotating base, rounded sculptural form and taupe chenille covering. The chair measures 82cm wide by 76cm deep by 80cm high, with rounded armrests and a high curved back that wraps around the sitter. The swivel mechanism sits on a circular plinth base finished in the same chenille as the body.
Designed for reading corners, bedroom corners and snug spaces where the ability to rotate adds flexibility, the Bingham allows a seated person to turn towards a window for natural light, towards a side table to reach a book or drink, or towards the room for conversation without dragging the chair across the floor. The 82cm width and 76cm depth fit into corners and alcoves that cannot accommodate a traditional two-seater sofa, while the rounded arms and back give the chair presence without sharp edges that catch on adjacent furniture.
The chenille covering is a textured weave in a warm taupe that sits between beige and mid-grey depending on lighting, pairing comfortably with both warm wood tones and cooler greys in contemporary and transitional interiors. The fabric has a soft hand and a slight sheen under direct light. At 22.4kg the chair has enough mass to resist tipping when a person sits down heavily or pushes off the armrests to stand, and the weight distribution keeps the base stable during rotation.
The Bingham is part of a modular range from Libra Interiors that includes a curved mini sofa, a fixed snug chair without swivel, an ottoman, a footstool and a storage bench, all available in coordinating chenille finishes. The swivel chair can be used as a standalone accent piece or paired with other Bingham elements to build a cohesive seating area.

Frequently Asked
Does the swivel mechanism lock in place?
No. The 360° swivel rotates freely on a continuous bearing and does not lock into fixed positions. The rotation is smooth but offers slight resistance so the chair does not spin freely when unoccupied.
What floor surface does it suit?
The circular plinth base distributes the 22.4kg weight evenly and works on hard floors, short-pile rugs and carpet. On thick or shag rugs the base may sink slightly and reduce the ease of rotation.
Is the chenille fabric removable for cleaning?
The chenille covering is not removable. For routine cleaning, vacuum with an upholstery attachment. For spot cleaning, blot with a damp cloth and a small amount of mild fabric cleaner, then allow to air-dry. Avoid soaking the fabric or using harsh chemical cleaners.
What other colours is the Bingham range available in?
The Bingham range is produced in a selection of chenille finishes including taupe, charcoal, cream and blush tones. Use the search function or filters at Niori to find other colour variants currently in stock.
