Description

This pale blue photo album gathers the first pictures of a baby boy behind a neat square cover, with the words beautiful baby boy in silver foil lettering across the front. A small silver-toned teddy sits at the top of the cover, over the words, with a tiny clear sparkle at its tummy. The cover measures 18.8cm one way and 17.5cm the other, and the album is 3.2cm deep. Inside, the opening page reads hello little one, with love you to the moon and back, and more than all the stars in the sky set over a pale star pattern, and a few lines to write a name, a date or a message of your own. After that come clear sleeves for 6 x 4in prints, held the portrait way.

We think it makes a lovely gift to mark a baby boy's birth, and it suits a gender reveal, with the blue cover and its words saying it all before the first page is turned. It is a keepsake for the years from birth to three, to fill with hospital snaps, first smiles and first steps, then keep on a nursery shelf or a bedroom bookcase. The album is freestanding, so it stands upright with the cover facing out, and the teddy and silver lettering look sweet on a dressing table or a chest of drawers in a pale blue or grey nursery.

The album opens on a neat spine with a plain pale blue back cover, and the lettering has a foiled finish that catches the light. Dust the cover with a soft dry cloth and keep the album away from damp and strong sunlight, which helps protect the prints inside. For a gift, slip a first photograph into the first sleeve and write a few words on the front page before you wrap it, so it arrives ready to be filled.
