Description

Atom is a chandelier in black. Six smoked glass spheres carried on short black stubs that branch from a small black hub, set at different angles rather than all in one plane, so the cluster reads differently from every side. The glass is a deep grey tint, clear enough to show each lamp inside as a bright flame and dark enough to grey whatever is behind it. The spheres are generous in size and overlap in outline without touching. A rigid black stem rises from the hub to a plain black flex. Nothing is symmetrical and nothing lines up. It measures 57cm across.

It suits a dining table or a hall with height above head level, where the arms are read as a shape rather than crowded against a ceiling. Hang it so the lowest lamp clears head height, about 2.1m from the floor where people walk beneath it, and lower over a table where nobody passes under it.

The holder is G9. It is rated IP20, for dry indoor rooms.

A G9 lamp. Bulbs are supplied separately so you can choose the brightness and colour you want.

Can it be dimmed?

Yes, on a compatible dimmer, provided the lamp you fit is a dimmable one. The fitting has no dimmer of its own.

How high should it hang above a dining table?

About 80cm from the table top to the bottom of the lowest lamp. Go higher over an island people walk past, and lower over a table nobody passes beneath.

Can it go in a bathroom?

No. It is IP20, which covers dry interior rooms only. A bathroom needs IP44 or better.
