Description

The Atle is a wall mirror with two faces. On one side, a sheet of mirror glass sits in a narrow blue frame; turn it round and the other side is a plain board with a cord stretched across it, ready to hold a letter, a postcard or a few stamps. It measures 40cm by 60cm and just 3.5cm deep, so it sits close to the wall, and it weighs 2.52KG. It is made from glass, MDF, fir and iron.

At this size it is a mirror for a quick look rather than a full-length one, which makes it a good fit for a hallway by the front door, a bedroom wall or the space over a desk. The board side earns its place in a study, a kitchen corner or a home office, where lists, invitations and photographs tend to gather. Because the frame is the same blue on both faces, the piece looks finished whichever side faces the room, so you can use it as a mirror now and a noticeboard later, or the reverse.

The frame is a slim, flat-faced band of blue that runs evenly around the glass, with clean square corners and no carving or bevel. The maker's assembly instructions come as a PDF download, so you can read them before it arrives. For styling, its upright proportions suit a narrow stretch of wall beside a door or a tall cupboard; against a warm painted wall the blue reads crisply, and a plant or a small lamp on a shelf nearby softens it. The styling props shown are not included.
