Description

The Asia is a 47cm diameter lantern chandelier with a cylindrical clear glass shade held in an oiled bronze metal frame, suspending eight E14 bulbs arranged in two tiers inside the glass drum. The glass features a square lattice pattern pressed into the surface, which refracts light through the geometric grid and creates overlapping shadows on surrounding walls and ceilings when lit.

Designed for dining rooms, entrance halls and stairwells with ceiling heights between 2.4m and 3.5m, the Asia provides both ambient and decorative light. The drop is adjustable between 850mm and 1750mm on installation, allowing the chandelier to be set at the correct height above a dining table (typically 700-800mm clearance) or centred in a double-height entrance hall. The eight bulbs are distributed around the interior perimeter of the glass drum, giving even light coverage without a single dominant shadow.

The oiled bronze finish on the metal frame shows a dark brown surface with subtle grain variation, warmer in tone than antique brass but cooler than copper. The frame includes top and bottom rings plus four vertical ribs that hold the glass cylinder in place and conceal the bulb holders. At 12.7kg, the chandelier requires secure fixing to a ceiling joist or rated ceiling rose, not just to plasterboard alone. The glass is press-moulded rather than hand-cut, giving consistent patterning across the full 360° circumference.
