Description
The Ashton is an 8-light crystal chandelier with a 530mm diameter antique brass frame supporting eight curved arms, each encrusted with cut crystal beads set into leaf-shaped metal cups. The arms radiate from a central hub in a symmetrical spiral pattern, with each arm holding a single G9 bulb fitting (bulbs sold separately). The antique brass finish shows a deliberately uneven patina that varies from darker bronze to warmer gold depending on the viewing angle and room light.
Designed for dining rooms, entrance halls and living rooms with ceiling heights of 2.5m or above, the Ashton provides both ambient and decorative light. The 950mm maximum drop allows the chandelier to be suspended 700-800mm above a dining table in standard-height rooms, while the minimum 520mm drop suits higher ceilings where the fitting needs to sit closer to the ceiling plane. The eight G9 fittings accept bulbs up to 33W each, giving flexibility to use LED, halogen or low-energy alternatives.
The crystal beads are hand-set into each arm's metal framework, creating defined rows along the curved leaf profiles. When lit, the crystals refract and multiply the bulb light, casting scattered highlights onto surrounding walls and ceilings. The combined crystal, brass framework and central column give the chandelier a 3.5kg weight, requiring a ceiling rose rated for the full load and a secure fixing into a joist or noggin. The antique brass pairs naturally with warm-toned timber furniture, heritage interiors and traditional schemes, while the clean geometry of the arms allows it to work in transitional spaces that mix period and contemporary elements.

Frequently Asked
What bulbs does the Ashton take?
The chandelier takes eight G9 capsule bulbs, each up to 33W maximum. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users fit warm-white LED G9 bulbs between 3W-5W and 2700K-3000K for dining room use. The fitting is dimmable if you use dimmable G9 bulbs and pair them with a compatible trailing-edge dimmer.
What ceiling height is needed?
The 950mm maximum drop suits rooms with ceiling heights of 2.5m or above when suspending the chandelier 700-800mm above a dining table. The chain can be shortened to the 520mm minimum drop for higher ceilings or flush-mount applications where less projection is needed.
How is the antique brass finish different from polished brass?
Antique brass has a deliberately aged patina with darker bronze and warmer gold tones across the surface, creating an uneven finish that changes with viewing angle. Polished brass is uniform and highly reflective. The antique finish suits heritage and traditional schemes, while polished brass reads as more contemporary.
How is the chandelier cleaned?
Turn off the power and allow bulbs to cool. Wipe the brass frame with a dry microfibre cloth. The crystal beads can be wiped individually with a barely-damp cloth and distilled water, then dried immediately. Avoid spraying liquid directly onto the fitting or soaking the metal components, as moisture can damage electrical connections and tarnish the brass.
