Our Ari candle holder is a tall black piece in pine and iron, built from a stack of rounded tiers. Below a slim neck, four rounded tiers step down, each wider than the last, to a broad flared foot, and fine ridges run around every one of them. It stands 27.5cm tall and measures 13.5cm across at its widest, so it is a tabletop piece with real presence rather than a small holder that gets lost among other things: tall enough to notice from across a room, yet slim enough for a narrow shelf or mantelpiece.

The narrow opening at the top holds a single dinner candle, which suits a sideboard, a mantelpiece or the centre of a dining table where you want height without clutter. Unlit, it still earns its place on a hall console, a bookcase or a bedroom chest of drawers, where the ridged black tiers read clearly against a pale or warm-coloured wall.
