Aquaria 4 Light LED Glass Bar Pendant - Matte Gold

The Aquaria is a 79cm matte gold bar pendant suspending four thick glass shades on adjustable cables. Each shade is moulded from clear glass into an angular polyhedral form with internal bubbles trapped in the glass structure during casting, giving a textured, faceted appearance when lit. Four integrated 4W 3000K LEDs sit inside the glass shades, casting warm light that refracts through the bubble texture and scatters across the surrounding surfaces.

Designed for dining tables, kitchen islands and entrance halls between 2.4-3m ceiling height, the Aquaria provides task and ambient lighting in a single fixture. The four drop cables adjust independently between 30cm and 140cm, allowing the pendant to be set level over an island or staggered for visual interest. The 79cm bar sits parallel to the length of a table or island, with the four shades evenly spaced to distribute light along the length rather than concentrating it in a single point.

The matte gold finish on the bar and the conical brass caps that hold each glass shade provide a warm metallic accent without the reflectivity of polished brass. The glass itself weighs approximately 1.6kg per shade, giving the fitting a total weight of 6.58kg once assembled. The IP20 rating limits the Aquaria to dry interior use only. Gravity toggles are included in the kit to secure the ceiling bar to plasterboard or masonry ceilings.

The angular polyhedral glass shape and internal bubble texture are characteristic of Schuller's sculptural glass casting technique, where molten glass is blown into a mould with controlled air pockets to create the bubble effect. No two shades are identical in bubble distribution, so the light scattering pattern varies slightly between each of the four drops.

Is the Aquaria dimmable?

The integrated LEDs are rated at 4x4W on 180-240V mains. Dimmer compatibility depends on the specific dimmer switch model. Contact us before pairing with a dimmer to confirm compatibility with your installation.

What ceiling height is needed?

The adjustable drops range from 30cm to 140cm per cable. For a dining table or island, the shades typically sit 70-90cm above the surface, which works in rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above. The four cables adjust independently, so they can be set level or staggered.

Can it be used in a bathroom?

No. The IP20 rating limits the Aquaria to dry interior use only. It is not rated for bathroom zones or outdoor installation.

How is the glass shade cleaned?

The glass shades can be wiped with a damp microfibre cloth. The internal bubble texture means dust can settle in the recesses, so occasional removal and rinsing under warm water may be needed for a thorough clean. Dry completely before refitting to avoid water marks.
