Description

The Apo is a 40cm diameter decorative platter cast in aluminium with a raw silver finish, its surface detailed with a coral-inspired organic texture that covers approximately half the disc. The textured area features raised, interconnected coral-like branches, while the remaining surface is left smooth to create contrast between the two finishes.

Designed as a centrepiece for coffee tables, console tables and sideboards, the platter sits flat at 4.5cm height and can hold small decorative objects, candles or simply function as a sculptural accent on its own. The 43cm square footprint (measured corner-to-corner) suits medium to large surfaces without dominating them. The raw aluminium finish shows slight tonal variation and natural oxidation over time, which adds depth to the metallic surface rather than degrading it.

The coral texture is cast into the aluminium during manufacture rather than applied afterwards, so it won't chip or separate from the base material. At 1kg the platter has enough weight to stay stable on a table surface but remains light enough to reposition easily. The silver tone pairs with coastal, contemporary and industrial interiors, and the organic detailing softens the industrial material choice.

The Apo is a decorative platter, not food-safe. The raw aluminium finish is untreated and unsealed, so it should not come into direct contact with liquids or food items. Use it to display candles, decorative objects or small ornaments.

Will the silver finish tarnish or oxidise?

Raw aluminium develops a natural patina over time when exposed to air and humidity. This slight tonal shift is a characteristic of the material rather than a defect, and adds depth to the silver finish. To maintain the original bright silver tone, wipe gently with a dry microfibre cloth.

How is the coral texture created?

The coral detailing is cast into the aluminium during manufacture using a mould. It's part of the base material, not an applied coating, so it won't chip, peel or separate from the platter over time.

What size table does it suit?
