Description

The Ancona is an 8-light chandelier built around eight curved satin gold arms extending from a central ribbed column, each arm terminating in a frosted glass shade shaped like a flared petal. The chandelier measures 61cm in diameter and 55cm in height before suspension, with all eight G9 bulbs included. The frosted glass diffuses light evenly across the interior of each shade, softening the output and reducing glare.

Designed for dining rooms and living rooms with ceiling heights of 2.7m or above, the Ancona works as a centrepiece above a dining table or as ambient lighting in a double-height entrance hall. The eight arms radiate from two tiers on the central column — four lower, four upper — creating a layered silhouette when viewed from below. The satin gold finish on the metalwork sits between polished brass and antique brass in tone, pairing with warm neutrals, cream walls and traditional oak or walnut furniture.

Each frosted glass shade is hand-blown with a petal-like flare at the rim, so minor variations in glass thickness and curvature occur between individual shades. The central column features horizontal ribbing that echoes Art Deco detailing, while the curved arms reference organic botanical forms. At 5.4kg the chandelier requires a ceiling fixing capable of supporting this weight plus a safety margin, typically a joist-mounted hook or cross-brace rather than a plasterboard-only fixing.

What ceiling height is needed?

The chandelier itself is 55cm tall before suspension chain or cable is added. For a dining table the base of the chandelier typically sits 750-850mm above the table surface, which requires a ceiling height of at least 2.7m. Lower ceilings can work if the suspension is shortened during installation.

Is it dimmable?

Yes, when paired with dimmable G9 bulbs and a compatible dimmer switch. The included bulbs may or may not be dimmable depending on stock — check the bulb packaging or replace with known-dimmable G9 LEDs if dimming is required.

How is the chandelier cleaned?

Switch off at the mains and allow bulbs to cool. Wipe the satin gold metalwork with a dry microfibre cloth. The frosted glass shades can be wiped with a barely-damp cloth if needed, but avoid soaking the lamp holders. Do not use chemical sprays or polishes on the gold finish.
