Amazzi Small Reclaimed Wood Plant Stand - Natural & Black

The Amazzi is a plant stand 70cm tall, built from two reclaimed wooden brick moulds stacked one on the other and dropped into a black iron frame. Each mould keeps its rounded ends, its iron corner straps and the dark staining left by the clay it once held, and the seam where the two meet runs straight across the face. The frame is four slim square-section legs braced near the floor, with a rail that wraps the moulds at the join and projects a short arm on each side.

At 70cm the planting well sits at about table height rather than on the floor. The well measures 35 by 18cm, which takes a row of small pots dropped straight in, a line of herbs, or one plant with room to spill over the rounded ends. Drainage holes are drilled through, so water runs out rather than standing in the wood. Indoor use only.

The moulds are reclaimed wood and the frame is iron. Each mould was made and used for shaping bricks before it was repurposed, so the tone of the wood, the surface marking and the wear are different on every stand and no two are alike. The Amazzi is also made in a larger size.

How should it be looked after?

Clean it at least twice a year with warm soapy water so dirt does not build up. Variation in the colour of the wood is expected, as the material is reclaimed and each stand is made by hand.
