Description

The Amara is a 6-light empire-form crystal chandelier built around two nested tiers of K9 cut-crystal beadwork on a polished chrome frame. An inner crystal cone houses the six G9 lamp holders, while an outer empire-shaped basket of beaded chains drapes from the upper coronet down to a lower crystal-set ring, finishing in a faceted crystal drop at the base. Overall dimensions are 63.5cm wide by 83.8cm high, with a 150cm cable and chain suspension.

The chandelier suits dining rooms above a 6-8 seat table, double-height entrance halls, stairwell voids and formal sitting rooms with ceiling heights of 2.7m or above. The 150cm suspension can be shortened on installation to set the fitting roughly 750-900mm above a dining table. With 9.5kg of total weight, the chandelier requires a secured ceiling rose fixed to a joist or a suitable brace bar above plasterboard.

K9 is an optical-grade leaded crystal glass cut and polished to produce sharp facet edges that refract light into discrete beams rather than diffuse glow. The double-tier construction means the inner cone glows when the lamps are lit while the outer drapery picks up reflected light, giving the fitting two distinct visual layers from below and from the side. The polished chrome frame keeps the metalwork visually quiet so the crystal does the work.

Six G9 capsule lamps up to 40W each are required and are sold separately. Pairing with clear G9 LED capsules at 2700K-3000K preserves the sparkle of the cut crystal; frosted lamps soften the light but reduce the prismatic refraction the K9 facets are designed to produce.
