Description
Our Aloe Artificial Plant gives you the look of a mature aloe without any of the watering. Its long, tapering leaves rise from the centre and fan outwards, each one thick-looking, edged with small teeth and dotted with fine flecks, much as the living plant grows. It stands 61cm tall in total and comes in a plain round pot that is 17cm tall and 19cm across at the base. The plant is made from a mix of plastics: 60% polyethylene, 30% polystyrene and 10% polypropylene.
At 61cm it is tall enough to stand on the floor beside an armchair or a low bench, and it sits just as happily on a sideboard, a deep windowsill or the corner of a desk. An artificial plant needs no water and no daylight, so it suits the spots in which a real aloe would struggle: a dim hallway, a landing, a bedroom with little light or an office where nobody remembers the watering can. It is a good choice for anyone who likes green leaves in a room but travels often, or who would rather not keep another plant alive.
The care the maker asks for is simple: handle it gently, because the leaves can come loose if they are pulled or knocked, and place it where people will not brush past it all day. It weighs 2.5KG, so it is easy to carry from room to room whenever you fancy a change. The plain pot is there to be hidden: drop it into a planter of your own at least 17cm deep, with a little room to spare around the 19cm base, and the leaves will arch over the rim much as they would from a living aloe. A dark glazed pot, a woven basket or a stoneware urn all suit it; the styling props shown are not included.
