Description

Our Allium Artificial Stem carries three white flowerheads on a single stem, each one a loose globe of small, star-shaped florets with fine, curling threads among them. It stands 64cm tall and measures 18cm across at its widest, which gives it the length for a tall vase and room to trim it down for a shorter one. The composition is 90% polyethylene and 10% iron, and the whole stem weighs just 0.065KG, so it adds next to nothing to the vase or bottle that holds it.

A single stem in a bud vase or a tall glass bottle makes a quiet, airy display on a hallway console, a mantelpiece, a windowsill or a bedside table. An artificial stem never wilts, so it suits spots where fresh flowers are hard to keep going, such as a guest room that sits empty for weeks or a high shelf. The white heads also work as a light filler in a mixed bouquet, where their open, starry texture loosens fuller, denser blooms, and several stems gathered in a wide vase build a soft cloud of white for a dining table or a sideboard.

Before first use, the maker asks that the stems be trimmed and folded into place, so give each head a gentle shaping as you unpack it and cut the base to suit the height of your vase. Handle it with care while you do, since the flowerheads are built from many fine florets and the maker's care note warns that they can break. For the most natural look, turn the three heads to slightly different angles so they read as a loose cluster rather than a neat row, and let one lean a little away from the others.

Frequently Asked

How tall is the allium stem?

It stands 64cm tall and measures 18cm across at its widest, with three flowerheads gathered at the top of a single stem.

What is the stem made of?

The composition is 90% polyethylene and 10% iron, and the whole stem weighs just 0.065KG, so it is very light to move between vases.

Can I cut it shorter for a smaller vase?

Yes. The maker asks that the stems be trimmed and folded into place before use, so you can cut the base to suit a shorter vase.

What is included?

You receive one single stem carrying three white flowerheads. The styling props shown are not included, and that covers the other flowers too.

How should I look after it?

Handle it gently, as the maker warns that the flowerheads can break, and shape each head and stem into place before you first display it.

Will it work in a mixed bouquet?

Yes. Its open, starry white heads make a light filler among fuller blooms, and it also stands well alone in a tall vase or bottle.
