Description

This is a single artificial allium stem in green, 63cm tall with a round, spiky head 13cm across. The head is made up of many fine, narrow petals that stand out in every direction, so from across a room it reads as a soft globe and close up as a cluster of sharp little points. The stem is made from 90% polyethylene and 10% iron and weighs just 0.074KG, light enough to sit in a slim, narrow-necked vase.

On its own, a single allium has a clean, graphic look: one tall stalk and one globe. Put it in a bud vase on a desk, a bedside table or a windowsill and it holds its own without any other flowers. At 63cm it also has the height for a tall vase on a hallway console or a living room sideboard. Added to a mixed bouquet of artificial stems, its round green head breaks up larger, flatter flowers and trailing leaves and gives the arrangement a point of texture. As an artificial stem it needs no watering, which suits a dim corner, a guest room or a high shelf that is awkward to reach.

Before use, the stem needs to be trimmed and folded into place, so you can cut it down to the height of your vase and set the stalk and petals as you like them.
