Description

The Alexandra is a 60cm-wide spiral crystal chandelier built around a polished chrome frame carrying 25 E14 bulb fittings across four descending tiers. Cut crystal droplets hang in symmetrical curtains from each tier, with the longest strands reaching the lowest ring and shorter strands layering inward toward the top. The spiral configuration creates a cascading vertical form that extends from a minimum drop of 2.1m to a maximum of 4.1m depending on how much chain is used on installation.

Designed for entrance halls, staircases and double-height spaces with ceiling clearances of 3m or above, the Alexandra generates layered light as each of the 25 bulbs reflects through the surrounding crystal droplets. The four-tier spiral structure means the chandelier reads as a vertical column of light rather than a wide radial fitting, making it suited to narrower vertical voids where a wide traditional chandelier would overwhelm the space. The polished chrome frame provides high-contrast reflections against the transparent crystal, amplifying the sparkle under both natural daylight and evening artificial light.

Each crystal droplet is precision-cut with facets that refract light into spectrum colours when positioned under direct illumination. The chandelier weighs 28.6kg when fully assembled, requiring secure ceiling fixings into either a joist or a reinforced ceiling rose rated for the combined weight of the frame, crystal and 25 bulbs. The chandelier takes 25 E14 candle-style bulbs, each up to 20W maximum. Bulbs are sold separately. Most installations use warm-white dimmable LED bulbs at 2700K-3000K to keep running costs low and to allow dimming control.

What ceiling height is needed?

The minimum 2.1m drop means the chandelier needs a ceiling height of at least 3m to allow clearance below. The drop is adjustable up to 4.1m for taller double-height spaces by adding or removing chain links during installation.

Can it be installed on a standard ceiling rose?

The chandelier weighs 28.6kg fully assembled. Standard UK ceiling roses are not rated for this weight — installation requires secure fixings into a ceiling joist or a reinforced ceiling rose specifically rated for chandeliers above 20kg. A qualified electrician should confirm the ceiling structure before fitting.

How are the crystals cleaned?

Switch off and allow bulbs to cool fully. Wipe each crystal droplet gently with a dry microfibre cloth to remove dust. For more stubborn marks, use a barely-damp cloth with distilled water. Avoid soaking the metal frame or using household sprays, as these can leave residue that dulls the crystal facets.
