Description

The Alexandra is a 60cm-diameter spiral crystal chandelier with 14 E14 bulb fittings arranged around a circular gold-finished metal frame. Crystal strands descend in a twisting, corkscrew formation from the top canopy down to the lowest point, creating a vertical column of refracted light. Each strand is made up of faceted crystal beads that catch and scatter light from the 14 bulbs positioned around the spiral's core.

Designed for entrance halls, stairwells and double-height spaces with ceiling heights of 3m or above, the Alexandra requires a minimum drop of 1170mm to accommodate the spiral's full length. The adjustable chain allows the total drop to extend to 3120mm, making it suitable for high voids and gallery landings. The 60cm width keeps the fitting proportionate in spaces where larger chandeliers would overwhelm, while the 12kg weight requires secure ceiling fixing into a structural joist or reinforced ceiling rose.

The gold finish on the metal framework and chain provides a warm metallic backdrop to the clear crystal, creating contrast between the reflective beads and the matte gold surface. The spiral formation means the chandelier presents differently depending on the viewing angle — from below it reads as concentric rings of crystal, from the side as a dynamic twisting column. The 14 E14 bulbs are sold separately, allowing control over colour temperature and whether to use dimmable LEDs or traditional candle bulbs for a warmer filament glow.

What bulbs does the Alexandra take?

The chandelier requires 14 E14 small Edison screw bulbs, each rated up to 20W maximum. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users choose warm-white LED candle bulbs between 4-6W and 2700K-3000K for a softer light, or dimmable filament bulbs for a traditional candle effect.

What ceiling height is needed?

The minimum drop of 1170mm means ceiling heights of at least 3m are needed for the chandelier to hang without obstructing head clearance in circulation areas. The chain is adjustable up to 3120mm total drop for taller voids and stairwells.

Is it dimmable?

Yes, but only if you fit dimmable bulbs. The chandelier itself has no built-in dimming — dimmer compatibility depends entirely on the bulbs you choose and the dimmer switch model installed on the circuit.

How is the crystal cleaned?

Switch off the circuit and allow bulbs to cool fully. Wipe each crystal strand with a dry microfibre cloth, working from the top downwards. For stubborn marks, a barely-damp cloth with distilled water is acceptable, but avoid soaking the metal fittings or allowing water to run into the bulb holders.
