Description

The Aledis is a 13cm blown glass pendant light with a gold-to-clear gradient finish, suspended on a matte black cord and canopy. An integrated 6W LED sits inside the glass, producing 400 lumens at 3000K colour temperature. The gold metallic coating is applied to the upper half of the glass, fading into transparency towards the base, so that the light source is visible through clear glass while the metallic upper portion reflects and diffuses the upward light output.

Designed for bedside positions, reading corners, and over occasional tables where compact decorative lighting is needed, the Aledis works either as a single accent or in pairs flanking a larger surface. The 210cm maximum drop allows the pendant to be set between 600-900mm above a bedside table or side table depending on ceiling height, while the minimum 40cm drop suits lower ceilings. The matte black suspension contrasts with the warm gold metallic finish, pairing well with both contemporary and transitional interiors that combine neutral tones with warm metallics.

The blown glass body shows slight variation in the fade line between the gold and clear sections, as the metallic coating is applied by hand to each piece. The 6W LED provides enough output for task light over a small surface without overpowering compact rooms, and the 3000K colour temperature produces a warm white close to halogen. The Class 1 earthed fitting requires a standard UK ceiling rose and the IP20 rating confirms indoor-only use.

The adjustable drop ranges from 40cm to 210cm. For a bedside or side table position, the pendant typically sits 600-900mm above the surface. This works in rooms with ceiling heights from 2.2m upwards. The short 40cm minimum drop also suits lower ceilings or closer-to-ceiling installations.

Can it be used in a bathroom?

No. The IP20 rating confirms indoor dry-room use only. The Aledis is not rated for bathroom zones where moisture or direct water spray is present.

Does the gold fade vary between pieces?

Yes. The gold metallic coating is applied by hand to each blown glass shade, so the exact position of the fade line between gold and clear glass differs slightly between individual pendants. This is a characteristic of the hand-finishing process, not a defect.
