Description
The Knightsbridge 8-gang grid faceplate is a 146mm square white thermoset resin cover plate designed to hold eight modular grid components from the Curved Edge Grid System. The faceplate itself carries no switching or socket mechanisms — it's the mounting surface for separately-purchased grid modules such as switches, sockets, USB ports, data points and dimmer controls that clip into a metal sub-frame.
This faceplate is used in commercial, hospitality and large residential installations where a single wall position needs to accommodate multiple control functions without installing separate back boxes side-by-side. It requires two CUG2F grid frames (sold separately) to be installed behind the faceplate, into which the individual grid modules clip. The curved edge profile matches the Knightsbridge Curved Edge switch and socket range, providing visual consistency across an installation.
The white thermoset resin construction provides a durable, impact-resistant finish that resists discolouration and carries anti-microbial properties tested to ISO 22196:2011, making it suitable for healthcare, education and food-service environments. The faceplate measures 146mm x 146mm with a 7mm projection from the wall once fitted, and includes screw cap covers to conceal the fixing screws. The IP20 rating confirms suitability for dry indoor locations.

Frequently Asked
What else is needed to install this faceplate?
You need two CUG2F grid frames (sold separately) that fix to back boxes behind the wall, plus the individual grid modules (switches, sockets, USB ports, dimmers) that clip into the frames. The faceplate itself is just the cover that goes over the top of the assembled grid system.
Can I mix different grid module types behind this faceplate?
Yes. The Curved Edge Grid System allows any combination of compatible grid modules — switches, sockets, data points, USB ports, dimmer controls — to be clipped into the frames behind this faceplate, up to a maximum of eight modules.
Is this compatible with other Knightsbridge switch ranges?
No. This faceplate is designed exclusively for the Curved Edge Grid System. It will not accommodate standard screwed switches or socket mechanisms from other Knightsbridge ranges. The curved edge profile matches the Curved Edge switch and socket range visually but the mounting method is different.
What back box arrangement is required?
Two standard UK back boxes are typically required, spaced to align with the two CUG2F frames. Exact spacing and depth requirements are detailed in the Product Manual in the Downloads section above.
