The Knightsbridge 8-gang grid faceplate is a 149mm square antique brass cover plate designed to house two 4-gang grid frames (GDF002F, sold separately) in a single-gang footprint. Made from premium-grade steel with a brushed antique brass finish, the faceplate provides a modular mounting surface for Knightsbridge grid switches, dimmers, sockets and data modules.

The grid system allows installers and homeowners to build custom switch and socket configurations without committing to fixed layouts. Each 4-gang frame slots behind the faceplate and accepts individual grid modules that clip into place without tools. This makes it practical for areas needing multiple controls in a compact arrangement — media walls, home offices, kitchen islands and AV installations where standard fixed-format plates cannot provide the required mix of outlets, switches and data points.

The antique brass finish is designed to coordinate with the Knightsbridge Square Edge Antique Brass switches and sockets range, providing a consistent warm metallic tone across an installation. The brushed surface reduces fingerprint visibility and develops a natural patina over time. At 10.5mm projection from the wall once mounted, the faceplate sits flush with standard UK back boxes rated IP20 for dry indoor locations.

What is needed to complete an 8-gang grid installation?

You need this faceplate plus two GDF002F 4-gang grid frames (sold separately) and the individual grid modules (switches, sockets, dimmers, blanks) to fill the eight module positions. The frames fix to a standard back box, the modules clip into the frames, and the faceplate secures over the top.

Is this compatible with other brands of grid systems?

No. This faceplate is designed exclusively for the Knightsbridge grid system and will not fit frames or modules from other manufacturers. All grid components in an installation must be Knightsbridge to ensure correct fitment.

What back box is required?

A standard UK single-gang 25mm minimum depth back box is required. The 149mm square faceplate covers the box opening and the two 4-gang frames mount inside the box on the fixing lugs.

Can the faceplate be installed with visible screws?

Yes. The image shows four visible slotted screws at the corners. Unlike Knightsbridge screwless plates, this grid faceplate is screw-fixed directly to the frames beneath.
