Description

The Knightsbridge 6A 1-gang 2-way dummy dimmer module provides the visual appearance of a rotary dimmer control but functions as a simple push on/off switch. The brushed chrome rotary knob sits on a brushed chrome rectangular faceplate with fine horizontal grain lines, and the entire module is designed to clip into modular grid plate systems alongside other switches, sockets and control modules.

Installed in residential and hospitality settings where a consistent grid plate style is needed across multiple control points, the dummy dimmer allows you to maintain visual continuity with actual rotary dimmers elsewhere in the same plate or the same room. The 2-way switching circuit allows the same light to be controlled from two locations without introducing dimming functionality. The 6A rating handles lighting circuits up to 1,380W on 230V mains.

The module measures 25mm wide and 56.5mm tall, occupying one module space in a standard Knightsbridge grid plate. The 23mm projection from the back of the module requires a minimum 35mm back box depth. The brushed chrome finish matches Knightsbridge's wider brushed chrome range, allowing coordination between grid modules, screwless faceplates and traditional screw-fixed accessories across an installation.

No. Despite the rotary knob appearance, this is a dummy dimmer that functions only as a push on/off switch. It provides the visual style of a dimmer without the dimming circuit, allowing consistent appearance across grid plates where some positions need dimming and others do not.

What grid plate system does it fit?

The module is designed for Knightsbridge's modular grid plate system. It occupies one module space (25mm wide) and clips into standard Knightsbridge grid frames, which are then fitted into a back box and covered with a grid faceplate.

Can it be used for 2-way switching?

Yes. The 2-way circuit allows the same light to be controlled from two switch locations without requiring an intermediate switch. This is the standard configuration for staircases and rooms with two entry points.

What back box depth is required?

A minimum 35mm back box depth is needed to accommodate the 23mm projection of the module plus the grid frame and faceplate assembly.
