The Knightsbridge GDM022BN is a 6A 1-gang 2-way dummy dimmer module with a black nickel finish, designed for modular grid systems. It provides the visual appearance of a rotary dimmer control while functioning as a standard on/off switch with 2-way capability, allowing control of the same lighting circuit from two separate locations.

This module suits installations where consistency of appearance across a grid faceplate matters more than dimming capability — typically in commercial settings, hotel rooms, or residential rooms where some circuits need dimming and others just need switching, but all controls should look identical. The push-on/push-off rotary knob operates the internal switch mechanism without varying the voltage output, so it controls non-dimmable LED circuits, fluorescent fittings, or low-voltage transformers without the compatibility issues that actual dimmers can introduce.

The module measures 25mm wide (single-gang grid width) and requires a minimum 35mm back box depth for installation. Does this module actually dim lights?

No. Despite the rotary knob appearance, this is a standard on/off switch with 2-way capability. It does not vary voltage and cannot dim lights. It exists to match the appearance of actual dimmer modules in the same grid system.

2-way switching allows the same light to be controlled from two separate switch locations — typically at opposite ends of a hallway or at the top and bottom of a staircase. This module can be wired as part of a 2-way circuit.
