E27 (ES) LED Candle Bulb 4.9W 470lm - Daylight 6500K, 2 Pack

A candle shaped LED bulb on an E27 screw cap, sold two to a box. It draws 4.9W and puts out 470 lumens, which the retail pack describes as 470 lumens in a sphere: the light goes out all round the lamp rather than forward in a beam. The colour temperature is 6500K, a daylight white that reads crisp and slightly blue beside the yellow of an old filament bulb. The pack rates it as the equivalent of a 40W incandescent and gives the lamp as 98mm long by 35mm across.

The cap is worth checking before ordering. E27 is the wide screw thread, around 27mm across, the same fitting as a standard household screw bulb, so the narrower E14 used in many chandeliers will not take this lamp. Candle bulbs are shaped for fittings that leave the bulb on show, which makes them useful in wall lights, small pendants, lanterns and multi-arm ceiling fittings where a fat round bulb sits awkwardly. At 6500K the light is brisk rather than cosy, so it earns its place in a hallway, a landing, a garage, a utility room or a home office, and rather less in a bedroom.

Will this fit a standard screw light fitting?

It has an E27 cap, the wide screw thread used on most household screw fittings. It will not fit the narrower E14 holder found in many candle chandeliers, so check the holder first.
