Description

This 360° PIR sensor is designed specifically for Knightsbridge LWB90 and LWB165 low bay lights, adding occupancy-based switching to warehouse, garage and commercial installations. The sensor mounts to the luminaire and provides a full 360° field of detection below, triggering the light when movement is detected within range and switching it off after a set hold time.

The sensor is adjustable on two parameters: lux level (10-300 lux, or disable) and hold time (10 seconds to 30 minutes). The lux threshold determines the ambient light level below which the sensor will activate the light on detecting movement, preventing daylight switching in installations with natural light. The hold time sets how long the light stays on after the last detected movement, allowing the installer to balance energy savings against nuisance switching in areas with intermittent occupancy.

The unit measures 102mm x 81mm x 43mm and is constructed from white polycarbonate with an IP20 rating, making it suitable for indoor installation in dry locations. Alternative detection lenses are included to adjust the optimum detection range depending on ceiling height and coverage area required. The sensor operates on 230V 50Hz mains and carries a Class II double-insulated rating, meaning it does not require an earth connection.

Frequently Asked

Which Knightsbridge lights is this sensor compatible with?

This sensor is designed for the Knightsbridge LWB90 and LWB165 low bay light fittings. It is not compatible with other Knightsbridge ranges or third-party luminaires.

How is the detection range adjusted?

The sensor includes alternative lenses that change the detection pattern and range. Swapping lenses allows the installer to tailor the coverage area to the ceiling height and room dimensions. Refer to the product manual for lens options and coverage diagrams.

What does the lux setting do?

The lux threshold (adjustable from 10 to 300 lux, or disable) sets the ambient light level below which the sensor will switch the light on when movement is detected. At higher lux settings, the sensor only activates the light in darker conditions, preventing daylight switching in rooms with windows or skylights.

Can it be used outdoors?

No. The IP20 rating means the sensor is only suitable for dry indoor locations. It is not protected against moisture or dust ingress and should not be installed in damp or outdoor environments.
