The Knightsbridge 3-gang grid faceplate is a 148mm x 88mm screwless cover plate in matt white, designed to fit over a GDS002F grid frame (sold separately). The faceplate provides three apertures for modular grid switches, dimmers, sockets or data outlets, allowing custom configurations to be built using the Knightsbridge screwless grid system.

Designed for residential and commercial installations where modular switching is needed, the grid system separates the visible faceplate from the functional modules behind it. The screwless cover plate clips onto the metal grid frame fixed to the back box, leaving no visible fixings on the wall once installed. This gives a cleaner finish than traditional screw-fixed plates and makes the faceplate easier to remove for redecorating without disturbing the wiring.

The matt white finish is a soft, low-sheen white that sits between pure white and off-white tones, pairing comfortably with white walls and neutral colour schemes without creating a stark contrast. The premium steel construction gives rigidity to the plate and maintains flatness against the wall, reducing flex around the aperture edges. At 3.5mm projection the faceplate sits almost flush with the wall surface once fitted.

What grid frame is needed?

This faceplate requires one GDS002F grid frame, which is sold separately. The frame fixes to a standard 25mm or 35mm back box and holds the modular switches, sockets or data modules. The faceplate then clips onto the front of the frame.

Can the faceplate be removed for painting?

Yes. The screwless cover plate clips onto the grid frame and can be removed by hand without tools, allowing you to paint around the apertures and re-clip the plate without disturbing the wiring or modules.

What modules fit the grid system?

Knightsbridge produces a range of modular grid switches, dimmers, sockets, blanks, phone/data modules and TV/satellite outlets designed to fit the GDS002F frame. Each module occupies one grid position, so a 3-gang frame holds three modules in total.

Is the faceplate compatible with other Knightsbridge ranges?

No. This faceplate is designed specifically for the screwless grid system and only fits the GDS002F grid frame. It is not compatible with standard switch or socket back boxes outside the grid range.
