Description

The Knightsbridge 3-gang grid faceplate is an 89mm square cover plate in antique brass, designed to front three modular grid switches or sockets within the Knightsbridge grid system. The plate is constructed from premium-grade steel with an antique brass finish that shows a darker, aged patina compared to polished or satin brass, giving it a heritage look that pairs with traditional and period-inspired interiors.

The grid system allows custom switch and socket configurations to be built on a single faceplate rather than installing multiple separate units. This faceplate accepts three grid modules side by side and requires the separate GDF002F back frame (sold separately) to mount the modules and fix the assembly to the back box. The square edge profile sits flush with the wall when fitted, with a 10.5mm projection from the wall surface once installed.

The antique brass finish coordinates with the Square Edge Antique Brass switches and sockets range from Knightsbridge, allowing mix-and-match across lighting controls, power outlets, data sockets and dimmer modules within a single installation. The steel construction gives the plate rigidity during fitting and prevents warping over time. The IP20 rating makes it suitable for dry indoor locations such as living rooms, bedrooms, hallways and offices, but not for bathrooms or outdoor use.

What else is needed to install this faceplate?

You need one GDF002F back frame (sold separately) to mount the grid modules and fix the assembly to the wall back box. The faceplate is the front cover only and does not include the frame or any grid modules.

How many grid modules does it accept?

Three standard Knightsbridge grid modules fit side by side within the frame behind this faceplate. Grid modules include switches, sockets, dimmers, data outlets and blank plates in various configurations.

Is it compatible with other grid systems?

No. This faceplate works only with the Knightsbridge grid system components. It will not fit MK, Varilight or other manufacturer grid systems due to different aperture dimensions and fixing methods.

Can it be used in bathrooms?

The IP20 rating means it is not protected against water ingress and should only be installed in dry indoor locations. For bathrooms, look for grid faceplates with IP44 or higher ratings designed for zones 2 and 3.
